The call was satisfied. Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that HCS CSSB 36(FIN) be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 2. Representative Porter objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, HCS CSSB 36(FIN) was returned to second reading. Amendment No. 2 was offered by Representative Davies: 1998-05-12 House Journal Page 3913 SB 36 Page 26, following line 2, insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 46. AS 14.17.490(d) enacted in Sec. 2 of this Act is repealed June 30, 2002." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 2 be adopted. Objection was heard. Representative Vezey rose to a point of order regarding improper debate. The Speaker cautioned the member to proceed in order. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 2 be adopted?" Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call on the passage of the bill be considered the roll call on the effective date clause. There being no objection, it was so ordered. HCS CSSB 36(FIN) was referred to the Chief Clerk for engrossment.
